Memory Match Relay
Objective
Teams race to match items hidden under cones and collect the most pairs.
Set-Up
Divide players into two teams and create a designate a starting line.
Place the green cones or domes in a grid pattern on the blacktop, ensuring there is enough space between each cone.
Distribute the assorted items evenly between the cones, placing one item under each cone, ensuring that there are matching pairs.
Each team lines up behind their respective starting lines.
How to Play
On "Go," the first player from each team races to find a matching pair of items under the cones. They may only lift two cones per turn.
If they successfully match two items, they return them to their team's side and place them in a designated collection area. The team earns a point.
If they do not find a matching pair, they must return empty-handed to their team, and the next player in line takes their turn.
Play continues in this manner until all matching pairs have been found.
The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Variations & Progressions
Adjust the number of cones and items based on the age and skill level of the players.
Introduce a time limit to add urgency to the game.
Include additional types of items to increase the challenge for younger players; use fewer, more straightforward, simpler items for matching.
