Bowser’s Castle

Objective:

  • Students attempt to run across Bowser’s castle without getting hit by the cannonball ‘dodgeball.’

Set-up:

  • Make a field 30x20 yards

  • Each student will pick a Mario character (Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach) and line up on one side of the area.

How to Play:

Start: Pick 2-3 students to be part of Bowser’s Army and take a position outside the cones before equipping them with a dodgeball.

  1. Students will try to make it to the other side without getting hit by dodgeball.

  2. If they are hit, they will get a dodgeball from the coach and join Bowser’s army outside the cones.

  3. The last student standing wins the game.

Progression:

  1. Instead of running, have the students bunny hop, frog jump, griddy across the field

  2. Have the students pair up, link arms and run across together

  3. Add more members to Bowser’s army to start the game

  4. Ask students to try underarm throws as well as overarm throws

  5. Add hula hoops as PIPES/FORCEFIELD. Students can stand in them for 3 seconds and not be hit before having to move again.
