Basketball Pizza Tag

Set-Up

Create an area. Select one, two, or three students to be the chefs. The rest of the students line up along one end line.

Then, assign a pizza ingredient to each student, e.g., student 1 = pepperoni, student 2 = cheese, student 3 = pineapple, student 4 = pepperoni, student 5 = cheese, student 6 = pineapple, etc.

How to Play

The chef(s) call out a pizza ingredient, 'CHEESE.' The students designated as 'cheese' attempt to dribble the basketball across to the opposite side of the area. Without getting tagged by the chef(s).

The Chef(s) can only move left and right along the center line.

If a student is tagged, they switch roles; the player with the ball Cheese becomes the Chef, and the Chef becomes the Cheese.

Continue playing the game for a specific time.

Variation

To make the game fun, ask the kids for different ingredient options for the pizza. For instance, students may say gummy worms, potatoes, and lego.
