Zombie Tag
Objective
The game is divided into two teams: Humans and Zombies. The objective of the zombies is to infect all humans by tagging them with a pool noodle while dragging a hula hoop with their feet. The goal of humans is to survive without being infected.
Set-Up
Narrative Elements: Create a backstory or narrative for the game, incorporating elements such as a virus outbreak, scientific experiments gone wrong, or a post-apocalyptic setting. This can enhance immersion and engagement for players.
Designate a playing area with boundaries. Ensure there is enough space for both teams to move freely and safely.
The Zombies have a hoop and a pool noodle or pinnie. Place the hospital "healing station" in a designated area where infected humans can be healed.
How to Play
Begin with all players as humans except for a designated number that starts as zombies. Zombies can only move by dragging the hula hoop with their feet and carrying a pool noodle for tagging.
Movement: Zombies can only move by dragging the hula hoop with their feet. Humans can move freely but must avoid being tagged by zombies.
Infection: When a zombie successfully tags a human with the pool noodle, that human becomes infected and can only move by walking. The human must also visibly indicate their infection status by placing their hand around their arm.
Healing Station: Infected humans can visit the hospital's "Healing Station" to be healed. To be healed, an infected human must stand in the healing zone for a predetermined time. Once healed, they can resume playing as normal humans.
Second Infection: If an infected human gets tagged by a zombie again before reaching the healing station, they become zombies. They must get a pool noodle and hula hoop to join the Zombie team in infecting the remaining humans.
End of Game: The game ends when all humans are infected and turned into zombies or a predetermined time limit is reached. If any humans remain uninfected by the end of the game, they are declared the winners.
Variations & Progressions
Power-Ups: Introduce power-up items (bean bags) scattered throughout the playing area. These items temporarily stun zombies. Toss the bean bag into the zombie hoop to stop them moving for 5 seconds.
Rescue Missions: Incorporate rescue missions where humans must retrieve items while evading zombies. This adds an element of strategy and cooperation among the human team.
If the humans get all the bean bags across to the base, they win.
Zombies cannot camp outside the base.
