Long Jump
How to Play
Start
Students see how far they can jump. From a running start, students jump at the cones and chalk line and see how far they can jump in the air.
The students have three attempts. The coach marks the student’s furthest distance they landed with a small chalk line.
Students compete against each other to see who can jump the furthest.
Coaching
Work with the students to jump off one foot and land on two feet. Use their arms to help them get more distance and also to jump out at a 45-degree angle.
Whoever jumps the furthest is the winner.
Set-Up
Either use the blacktop and chalk to mark off the distance they jumped. Or use the grass and mark the distance with cones.
