Fortnite Dodgeball
Set-Up
Mark out an outer circle of cones (20-30 yards in diameter) and an inner circle of domes (10 yards in diameter). Use chalk if you are playing on the blacktop.
Set up two teams. One team is located around the outside circle, and the other is in the inner circle.
Discuss safety rules, especially regarding the ball hitting only from the waist down. Have a consequence ready for throwing above the waist and enforce it. Remind students that the throwers stay outside of the circle to begin.
How to Play
The team on the outside throws the dodgeballs at the students in the inner circle. Students stood in the inner circle, dodge the incoming balls. If a ball hits a student, they are out and stand on the outside of the outside ring.
After 60 seconds, the students on the outside of the circle can take one step forward toward the students in the inner circle, just like the storm on Fortnite that gets smaller as time passes.
The outside players can take another step forward every 60 seconds.
The game finishes if all the players in the inner circle get hit, or 3 minutes have elapsed.
Teams switch.
The winning team is the one that gets everyone out the quickest or has the most players remaining at the end of 3 minutes.
Variation
The students inside the inner circle can catch the ball and throw it at the students on the outside. If they hit them, they are out of the game.
