Drop The Cookie

Set-Up

Set out an area. Depending on the number of participants, give one-third of the students a tall cone or come (cookie).

Show the children how delicious the cookie is.

Review the safe tagging rules.

How to Play

The object of the game is for students who do not have a cone/dome to tag the students who are holding a cone/dome (cookie).

When they tag them, they shout, “Drop the cookie!”

The tagged kid must drop the come/dome and run away. (They cannot tag another student for 3-5 seconds). The tagger picks up the cone and is then chased by the other kids.

If two people tag the person with a cookie simultaneously, they must do rock, paper, scissors to see who gets the cookie.

Play for a time limit.

Play for a specific time limit, such as 1 minute. When you shout 'STOP' or blow the whistle, the students holding a cone earn points.

Continue playing until one student or tem reaches a predetermined number of points, such as 10, to determine the winner.

Variations

This can be played with pool noodles, and the kids shout “Drop the Spaghetti!” You can probably make something up for whatever equipment you have on hand.

You can also be creative and ask the children what they want the cone/domes to be, and then the kids have to shout, “Hey, drop the (insert name here)!”
