Pirates (Basketball/Soccer)

Set-Up

Use the basketball court. Or if soccer, place cones to create an area.

Pirates: Some students do not have a ball.
Sailors: The other students have a basketball/soccer ball.

How to Play

The sailors/students with a basketball/soccer ball dribble around the area. The PIRATES try to steal the ball.

If the student loses the ball, they cannot steal it back and become a pirate. They now attempt to steal another ball from someone else.

On the Instructors Shout ‘TREASURE CHEST’… the students with a ball attempt to dribble to the end zone without getting their ball stolen by a pirate. If a student gets to the end zone with a ball they get 1 point.

Variations

If you have young children, you can ask them to tag the players with a ball to steal it.
