Code of Conduct & Professionalism

 

All Active Education staff, regardless of circumstances, paid or unpaid, will demonstrate the necessary professionalism to prepare, supervise and keep safe any and all children in their care.

INSTRUCTOR shall be responsible for and shall be cognizant of all codes of performance, conduct and professionalism required by COMPANY. INSTRUCTOR is expected to act as a role model for both children and COMPANY’s clients at all times.

INSTRUCTOR shall be prepared for sessions and follow the curriculum when appropriate! 

INSTRUCTOR should demonstrate enthusiasm and a positive approach at all times.

Use a positive and professional demeanor at all times. Never sit down while working or use a cell phone.

Never purposefully embarrass or ridicule children at any time or as a means of discipline (watch sarcasm).

INSTRUCTOR must treat all children equally regardless of gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, race, national origin, religion, disability, or any other legally protected category.

Consider certain games that may be offensive in certain communities e.g., Cowboys & Indians.

No kicking balls at or towards children.

INSTRUCTOR must never abuse children physically, verbally, mentally, or neglectfully.

INSTRUCTOR will be punctual at all programs and COMPANY events during the contract term.

INSTRUCTOR will be appropriately dressed, well groomed, fully prepared and equipped for all duties and work related assignments assigned to INSTRUCTOR by COMPANY hereunder. INSTRUCTOR must wear COMPANY provided apparel at all programs and COMPANY events.

INSTRUCTOR will not use a phone while on the program unless in an emergency.

INSTRUCTOR will report any possible concussion issues.

Should INSTRUCTOR suffer any injury or illness which causes or effectively prevents him or her to be unable to carry out his or her duties under this contract, COMPANY and INSTRUCTOR hereby agree that INSTRUCTOR will receive no wages or other compensation during the time that INSTRUCTOR is unable to perform his or her duties hereunder.

If any scheduled hourly work is not completed in its entirety, INSTRUCTOR will only receive monies for the actual hours worked.

COMPANY may cancel scheduled work because of inclement weather, acts of God or terrorism. INSTRUCTOR will not be paid for any cancelled work.

In the event that it becomes necessary for INSTRUCTOR to interrupt or cancel work, INSTRUCTOR must notify COMPANY at least 72 hours prior to such interruption or cancellation and shall provide a valid reason.

Active Education may periodically evaluate INSTRUCTOR’s performance via performance reviews, employee discipline and performance improvement plans.

You must NOT engage in negative dialogue with the office staff and/or principals.
