Snakes & Ladders
Set-Up
Based on the board game Snakes & Ladders or Shutes & Ladders.
Set out a squiggly line of spots and hoops.
(Domes can be used as substitutes for spots if needed).
How To Play
Each student, in turn, rolls the dice. The number on the dice relates to the amount of steps the student moves forward—for example, if the dice is a ‘5’, the student moves ‘5’ steps forward on each spot. The aim of the game is for the first student to get to the finish line win.
Ladders = Place a bib or bean bag next to a spot to signify that it is a ladder.
When a student lands on a ladder, they roll the dice again. And move forwards.
Snake = Use a hoop as the snake.
When students land on a snake, they roll the dice again and move backward.
Students could roll the dice multiple times if they keep landing on either a snake or a ladder.
